Job description

Delaware County Christian School is accepting applications from qualified persons to serve as a full time Advancement Assistant. The Advancement Assistant is a full time/year round position that supports the Advancement Department and manages and assists in the overall functions of the office. Duties & Responsibilities:
A successful Advancement Assistant effectively executes a variety of distinct tasks. As such, while the following does not represent a comprehensive list, it aims to outline the primary areas of responsibility:
  • Managing the constituent database:
    • Recording gifts and statements of intent
    • Logging donor communications and conversations
    • Pulling mailing and donor lists
    • Tracking mailing and other campaigns
    • Generating reports and dashboards
  • Helping to coordinate fundraising events
  • Managing the donor acknowledgement process
  • Assisting with donor research and prospective donor identification
  • Fielding inquiries into the office with professionalism and sociability
  • Helping to coordinate development communications
  • Managing office, including inventory, file storage and other administrative needs
  • Personal commitment to Jesus Christ and solid understanding of the Word of God. There should be evidence of a godly lifestyle based on a commitment to Jesus Christ.
  • A passion for Christian education, paired with a commitment to DC's mission and alignment with biblical values

Education & Professional Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Two years or more of experience in nonprofit development, communications, or related field

Skills Required:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong personal relationship skills and the ability to work closely with a wide range of people
  • Office management skills
  • A high level of professionalism, including a high level of discretion and respect for confidentiality
  • Project management skills
  • Computer literacy and aptitude, including Microsoft Office products and CRM databases. Background in Raisers Edge NXT preferred.

Note: position requires some nights and weekends for special events
