Job description

Center Point is seeking a compassionate and experienced leader to serve as Program Director for our Alameda County Day Reporting Center (DRC) in Oakland, CA. This program operates under contract with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), Division of Rehabilitative Programs (DRP), and provides services to adults on parole.
About the Position:
The Program Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and successful operation of a CDCR-funded Day Reporting Center serving the Adult Parole population. This role ensures high-quality service delivery aligned with evidence-based practices and CDCR DRP contract requirements, with a focus on reducing recidivism and supporting successful community reintegration.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide overall administrative and operational leadership for CDCR DRP-funded DRC services.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate daily program activities serving adults on parole.
  • Ensure delivery of evidence-based interventions, including cognitive behavioral programming, substance use disorder services, and reentry support.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate multidisciplinary program staff.
  • Ensure compliance with CDCR DRP contract requirements, state regulations, and evidence-based practice standards.
  • Oversee program performance, outcomes, and continuous quality improvement initiatives aimed at reducing recidivism.
  • Manage program budget and ensure fiscal accountability in alignment with contract expectations.
  • Collaborate with CDCR staff, parole agents, community providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and timely submission of all required program deliverables (e.g., performance reports, ARMS-related data as applicable).
  • Support audits, monitoring visits, and program reviews.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in program management, preferably in criminal justice, reentry, or behavioral health settings.
  • Experience working with justice-involved individuals, specifically Adult Parole populations, strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), substance use disorder treatment, and reentry services preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contracts, compliance, and performance outcomes in publicly funded programs.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, reporting, and regulatory oversight preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOJ Live Scan background clearance.
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license with no serious infractions within the past four (4) years.
  • Must be insurable under the agency’s automobile insurance policy.
  • Must have access to reliable personal transportation for work-related duties.
