Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy Training Specialist to design, develop, and deliver engaging learning experiences that leverage modern instructional design principles and educational technologies. This role will support Family Dollar organizational learning initiatives by creating scalable training programs that enhance employee performance and drive business outcomes for corporate, field and distribution center associates.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and develop interactive learning content using instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM)
  • Create eLearning modules, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vlLT), and blended learning solutions
  • Apply adult learning theory and accessibility standards to all training materials
  • Utilize learning technologies such as Learning Management Systems (Workday Preferred), authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Synthesia), and collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams)
  • Evaluate and implement new tools and platforms to enhance learning delivery and engagement
  • Facilitate live training sessions (in-person and virtual) for diverse audiences
  • Support subject matter experts (SMEs) in delivering technical or role-specific training Develop assessments to measure learning outcomes and training effectiveness Analyze feedback and performance data to continuously improve training programs
  • Manage multiple training projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and
  • alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HR, IT, and department leads.
  • Operate cameras, lighting, and audio equipment to capture professional-grade footage
  • Plan, film, and edit video content for a variety of purposes including training, internal communications, executive messaging, and promotional campaigns
  • Ensure consistency in tone, branding, and messaging across all learning and communication touchpoints
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 2-5 years of experience in instructional design and training delivery
  • Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools and LMS platforms (Workday preferred).
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills. Experience in the use of video editing software (Adobe Premier Preferred)
  • 2 + years of experience in videography, video editing (Adobe Premier Preferred), or
  • multimedia production
  • Must have working knowledge of Synthesia or other Al software
  • Certification in instructional design or training preferred (e.g., CPTD, ATD, or similar)
