What are Adoption Managers?

Adoption Managers are professionals who oversee and coordinate the adoption process for organizations such as adoption agencies, child welfare services, or animal shelters. Their responsibilities typically include assessing applicants, facilitating matchings, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards, and providing support to both adoptees and adoptive families. They play a crucial role in making sure that the adoption process is smooth, transparent, and in the best interest of all parties involved.

What are some common challenges Adoption Managers face when coordinating with multiple stakeholders?

Adoption Managers often work with a diverse group of stakeholders, including birth parents, adoptive families, legal professionals, and social services agencies. One common challenge is ensuring clear communication and managing differing expectations among all parties while prioritizing the best interests of the child. Additionally, navigating complex legal regulations and maintaining confidentiality can add to the complexity of the role. Building strong relationships and staying organized are essential to coordinating successful adoptions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Adoption Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Adoption Manager, you need a background in social work or a related field, experience in child welfare, and often a relevant license or certification. Familiarity with case management software, state and federal adoption regulations, and documentation systems is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and strong organizational abilities help navigate complex family dynamics and ensure effective placements. These skills are crucial for ensuring the well-being of children, compliance with legal standards, and building trust with families throughout the adoption process.

Technical Product Manager

Dallas Hybrid

Up to $150,000 plus bonus

ShortList is recruiting for a Technical Product Manager for a specialist financial analytics firm with an established client base across the financial services sector.

The Technical Product Manager will own adoption across a growing suite of analytical platforms, act as the bridge between a specialist Financial R&D team and 400+ advisory clients, and ensure that powerful tools translate into measurable value for the institutions using them.

This is not a traditional product management or customer success appointment. We are looking for someone whose singular focus is getting platforms adopted, used, and loved, with the commercial instinct and client credibility to make that happen at senior levels.

Key Requirements for the Technical Product Manager

  • 3 to 7 years in client success, implementation, or product adoption at a B2B financial technology company

  • Direct experience onboarding financial institutions onto analytical or risk management platforms, with personal exposure to CFO or treasury\-level stakeholders

  • Strong working knowledge of ALM, interest rate risk, investment analytics, or balance sheet management. You do not need to build the models, but you must speak the language fluently

  • Demonstrable experience converting users from legacy spreadsheet workflows to platform\-based delivery

  • Prior experience synthesising structured client feedback into prioritised product requirements for engineering teams

  • Comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a small, fast\-moving environment

Key Skills required for the Technical Product Manager

    • Able to own an adoption metric end\-to\-end, including tracking active users, identifying lapsed accounts, and building structured rollout campaigns

    • Capable of personally running demos, walkthroughs, and onboarding sessions using client data

    • Experienced in creating training content, including quick\-start guides and short video walkthroughs, to enable self\-service onboarding at scale

    • Confident in translating between technical R&D teams and non\-technical client stakeholders

    • Able to monitor platform usage data and identify where engagement drops off

    • Skilled at capturing competitive intelligence and client feedback in a form that informs product roadmap decisions

    • Bias toward action: When clients are not engaging, the instinct is to pick up the phone and deal directly

Ideally, we are looking for candidates from financial software platforms, bank and advisory firms, and risk and analytics vendors.

This Technical Product Manager role is based in Dallas, TX, on a hybrid basis, with a fully remote option available for the right candidate. You must be based in the DFW area or actively willing to relocate to be considered for the hybrid option.
