Overview
We are looking for an experienced AEM Technical Lead with deep, hands on expertise across AEM Sites, AEM Assets/DAM, AEM Cloud, JavaScript/web technologies, and preferred backend experience in Java for system integration. This role requires strong technical leadership, the ability to deploy and optimize AEM solutions at scale, and an understanding of Adobe's emerging Edge and AI powered capabilities. An Adobe AEM certification and 7+ years of end to end AEM solution delivery experience are required.
Key Responsibilities
AEM Architecture, Development & Leadership
• Lead end to end architecture, design, and implementation of AEM-based web solutions, ensuring compliance with best practices for scalability, security, and performance.
• Develop reusable AEM components, templates, client libraries, and services using HTL/Sightly, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and AEM 6.x frameworks.
• Integrate AEM with enterprise systems using REST/SOAP APIs and Java-based services.
Code Deployment & DevOps
• Oversee and execute code deployment pipelines for AEM Cloud environments, including cloud-native build and release processes.
• Implement CI/CD tooling (Cloud Manager, Git-based workflows, Jenkins, or equivalent) to ensure reliable, automated deployments.
• Manage environment configurations, dispatcperson settings, cloud pipelines, and support zero downtime releases.
• Troubleshoot build failures, environment issues, and production defects with a deep understanding of AEM architecture.
Edge Delivery & Performance Optimization
• Utilize Adobe Edge Delivery Services (EDS), CDN optimizations, caching strategies, and asset renditions to ensure high performance content delivery at global scale.
• Optimize sites for lean front-end delivery, cache efficiency, and responsive performance across channels.
• Implement image optimization, lazy loading, CDN rules, and otperson edge layer improvements.
AI, Automation & Intelligent Experiences
• Leverage Adobe's AI capabilities-such as Sensei-powered content intelligence, GenAI for content variation, and smart tags-to enhance authoring workflows and personalization.
• Support integrations with tools like Adobe Launch, Adobe Analytics, AEP/RTCDP, and otperson Experience Cloud services to enable intelligent, data-driven experiences.
• Stay updated on Adobe's evolving AI and automation roadmap to guide clients on future-ready solution patterns.
Technical Governance & Team Leadership
• Conduct design/code reviews, enforce AEM architectural standards, and mentor developers on AEM best practices.
• Collaborate closely with product owners, UX teams, QA, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth and successful delivery.
Required Skills
• 7+ years of hands-on experience engineering AEM Sites/DAM solutions.
• Strong proficiency in HTL/Sightly, JavaScript, and modern front-end practices.
• Preferred Java experience for backend customization and integrations.
• Experience deploying to AEM as a Cloud Service using Cloud Manager pipelines.
• Solid understanding of Edge Delivery Services, CDNs, caching, and web performance best practices.
• Familiarity with Adobe's AI features and Experience Cloud integrations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Certifications
• Adobe Certified Expert (AEM Developer/Architect) - Required.
