Job description

SCC is seeking a full-time Admissions Specialist to support newly admitted students through the early stages of the enrollment process and to ensure accurate, efficient admissions operations. This position plays a key role in outreach to recently applied students, transcript evaluation, records management, and support for graduation and commencement activities. The Admissions Specialist collaborates closely with campus partners to promote a seamless, student-centered experience from application through completion.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to current and prospective students through email, phone, and in-person interactions.
  • Assist newly admitted students with admissions requirements, including residency documentation, placement, and program prerequisites, and provide clear nextโ€‘step guidance.
  • Evaluate incoming transfer credit for course equivalency and communicate results to students and advisors.
  • Process outgoing transcripts accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
  • Process admissions documents, residency forms, and other required materials.
  • Ensure data integrity within the student information system and support continuous improvement of admissions workflows.
  • Assist with graduation application processing and verification of degree requirements.
  • Support commencement planning and logistics, including communication with graduates and coordination of related tasks.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to ensure a smooth and studentโ€‘centered graduation experience.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Schedule may vary, may include evenings or weekends and may require some travel between campuses.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support admissions and student services operations.
