Job description

Job Title: Temporary Administrative Support Worker
Department: Various
Classification: Non-Exempt
Status: Temporary / On-Call (Variable Hours)
Hourly Rate: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour DOE
JOB SUMMARY
The Temporary Administrative Support Worker provides on-call clerical and administrative support to Tribal departments. This position is part of a centralized temporary worker pool and is assigned based on departmental needs, workload demands, and employee availability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
โ€ข Provide general administrative support including filing, data entry, and document preparation
โ€ข Answer phones, greet visitors, and assist with front desk coverage as needed
โ€ข Schedule meetings, maintain calendars, and coordinate logistics
โ€ข Prepare, proofread, and format correspondence and reports
โ€ข Maintain organized electronic and physical records
โ€ข Assist with event coordination and departmental projects
โ€ข Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
โ€ข Support multiple departments with varying administrative needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
โ€ข High school diploma or GED
โ€ข Minimum one (1) year of administrative or clerical experience
โ€ข Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
โ€ข Strong organization and attention to detail
โ€ข Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
โ€ข Strong verbal and written communication skills
โ€ข Must pass background check and drug/alcohol screening
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
โ€ข Associate's degree in business administration or related field
โ€ข Experience in tribal government or public sector
โ€ข Experience supporting executive or department leadership

TRIBAL PREFERENCE STATEMENT:
In accordance with applicable Tribal law and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians (PRCI) Administration provides employment preference to enrolled PRCI Tribal Members. To qualify, applicants must submit valid proof of enrollment. Tribal Members who meet the minimum qualifications will be given preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and layoff decisions. During the interview process, PRCI Tribal Members will receive an additional 7.5 points (10% of the 75-point interview rubric). Non-PRCI Native American candidates will receive an additional 5 points (6.7% of the total points) in accordance with Indian Preference guidelines.
INDIAN PREFERENCE STATEMENT:
In compliance with 25 CFR Part 276 and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Sections 701(b) and 703(i), employment preference shall be given to qualified applicants who are enrolled members of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians, and secondarily, to another qualified American Indian/Alaska Native Candidate.
