Responsibilities:
  • Implements the full lifecycle of enterprise database and application server related systems, services, and solutions, ensuring their quality, stability, recoverability, and security.
  • Maintains automation solutions and scripts to automate complex database and application server management tasks across multiple environments.
  • Diagnoses and resolves complex problems across large multi-system environments.
  • Develops and maintains documentation of systems, services, processes, and procedures.
  • Reviews and validates changes for impact on database security and integrity posture.
  • Assists application developers and functional users with database problems and requests.
  • Serve as a resource on a variety of database integration issues, including migration between disparate databases, data conversion, capacity planning and new application deployments.
  • Provide a Monthly Database Report on unscheduled downtime for production and non-production databases; the allocated, used, and remaining capacity in databases; and the database activities that have taken place during the month.
  • Perform the full suite of database maintenance activities, including evaluating and implementing patches and upgrades, managing table spaces and redo logs, performing data migrations, monitoring performance, and performance tuning.
  • Administer user accounts for all employees and authorized contractors by creating, granting, and revoking privileges and roles; resetting passwords; locking and unlocking accounts; setting quotas, and creating and setting default table spaces.
  • Provide technical assistance to application developers and end users in order to connect client software to databases, develop Structured Query Language (SQL) and shell scripts; import and export schemas; answer database questions;kill processes and threads; and migrate data from one database or schema to another.
  • Work with data owners and the ISSO to ensure that personally identifiable information (PII) is stored in an encrypted format in enterprise databases.
  • Support data governance policies by ensuring data accuracy, accessibility,consistency, and completeness Implement future database management system (DBMS) requirements including big data strategies, relational databases, dimensional databases, and unstructured databases.
  • Support data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives (including data mining and data movement) as implemented by customer.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required skills:
  • Must hold a secret clearance or higher.
  • IAT II certification.
  • 2+ years' experience with database administration.
