Purpose:

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, resident-centered care and support under the direction of licensed nursing staff. This role ensures the physical, emotional, and social well-being of residents while maintaining the highest standards of safety, dignity, and respect in accordance with facility policies and state/federal regulations.


Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, and mobility assistance.
  • Assist residents with meals, hydration, and feeding as necessary while maintaining dignity and independence.
  • Measure and record vital signs, weight, intake/output, and report significant changes to the nurse immediately.
  • Help residents with positioning, turning, and transferring using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable resident rooms and common areas.
  • Support residents in recreational and social activities to promote engagement and emotional well-being.
  • Observe and report any changes in physical or mental status to the licensed nurse promptly.
  • Follow infection control, safety, and privacy policies at all times.
  • Document care and observations accurately and timely in accordance with facility procedures.
  • Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
  • Uphold resident rights, confidentiality, and the mission and values of the facility.

Qualifications:
  • Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience in long-term care or post-acute setting (preferred).
  • Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, and team members.
  • Must be able to lift, move, and transfer residents safely and perform the physical demands of the position.
  • Current CPR certification (preferred).
  • Must pass background screening and health requirements per Florida regulations.
