Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care for patients in the outpatient addiction clinic and opioid treatment program.
- Diagnose substance use disorders and non‑substance related addiction disorders and recommend treatment that considers levels of care criteria.
- Assist medical leadership with Quality Assurance and Process Improvement projects as needed.
- Teach and train fellows, residents, and medical students rotating on addiction services, as well as preparing didactic presentations as needed.
- Order and manage medications for addiction treatment, including for opioid use disorder and alcohol use disorder.
- Monitor the progress of individuals in treatment and review the appropriateness of continued treatment and level of care.
- Contribute to the completion of Treatment Plans and Utilization Reviews.
- Assist with orientation of new physicians and staff in addiction services.
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Addiction Psychiatry.
- Active New York State Medical License.
Wages and Benefits
Annual Base Salary: $278,200* (board eligible); $288,500* (board certified) based on a 40‑hour work week.
The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $450,020** (board eligible) and $461,350** (board certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors.
- Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***.
- Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
- 401(k) Company Contribution: Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings; after one year of service, an additional 7% company contribution.
