Job Summary
Certified Nursing Assistants are part of an interdisciplinary team focused on providing supportive and functional care in accordance with each members' unique needs and care plan. CNAs assist members with activities at our day care centers, including personal and medical care, meals, and on- and off-site social activities. All team members are expected to lead by example - maintaining a positive attitude; being a thoughtful, supportive, productive and dependable co-worker; keeping our members safe; and always working to enhance the health and happiness of the people we serve and those who care for them.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent and current CNA certification.
  • At least one-year full-time equivalent experience in a health care setting preferred.
  • Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred.
  • Strong communication and engaging interpersonal skills.
  • Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Able to bend, pull, push, squat, turn, transfer, and lift 50 pounds; able to stand for an extended period while providing physical assistance to members.
  • Successful results of background check, and where applicable, additional state-specific regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist members with activities of daily living and personal care as needed (e.g. arrival and departure, eating, ambulation, transferring, therapies, rest room assistance, etc.)
  • Through direct interaction and observation, assist interdisciplinary team in reviewing members' behaviors and medical needs; provide timely and compassionate prescribed medical and physical care in accordance with daily goals.
  • Assist in the planning and facilitation of creative and diverse therapeutic recreational programs and encourage member participation.
  • Serve meals and snacks and clear tables; assist with feeding as needed.
  • Ensure the safety of members by monitoring activities, keeping a sanitary, clutter-free environment, and participating in safety training; actively contribute to creating and
    maintaining a clean, orderly, bright and welcoming center.
  • Maintain program areas, supplies, and equipment ensuring all are clean, disinfected, stocked, replenished and in good working order.
  • Communicate in a positive, courteous and professional manner with members and their families, co-workers, referral agencies, and the community at large.
  • Participate in staff meetings and in-service educational programs as requested; actively collaborate with cross-functional team, providing feedback and recommendations for enhancing the member experience and achieving the center's overall goals and objectives.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as changed or assigned at any time.
