Outreach is hiring a full-time Accounting Manager to provide leadership for the daily accounting operations of Outreach Community Ministries and its affiliated entities. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Accounting Manager will oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, audit preparation, and the supervision of the Finance team. This position is ideal for a collaborative accounting leader who is committed to operational excellence, financial stewardship, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:
  • Lead the daily accounting operations for Outreach Community Ministries and affiliated entities.
  • Oversee the monthly and annual financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and review journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, accruals, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), organizational policies, and internal accounting controls.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses to support organizational decision-making.
  • Assist the CFO with budgeting, financial forecasting, cash flow management, and strategic financial initiatives.
  • Coordinate the annual external audit, prepare audit schedules, and serve as the primary liaison with auditors under the direction of the CFO.
  • Oversee compliance with nonprofit financial regulations, tax filings, grant reporting, and restricted fund accounting.
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering a collaborative, high-performing Finance team.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll accounting, banking activities, and cash management processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA designation or active CPA candidate strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience required; public accounting experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, budgeting, audits, internal controls, payroll accounting, and GAAP.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Experience with nonprofit accounting software preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both finance and non-finance leaders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Outreach Community Ministries.
