Job description

Job DescriptionRailmark (www.railmark.com) is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant position to support its finance and administration team at the company’s restored 1902 Union Station headquarters in Henderson, Kentucky. This role is ideal for someone seeking a unique career with hands-on experience in railroad finance, accounting operations, and administrative support. This position will gain exposure to real-world railroad transportation accounting practices while supporting rail operations and infrastructure services, with potential for long-term growth within the company.  This is not a remote position and reports daily to the corporate office.  Some occasional, company-paid U.S. travel to other Railmark locations is required.  Railmark maintains a NO SMOKING environment. 

Key Responsibilities: Assist with daily accounting tasks, including invoice processing and account reconciliation and asset management. Support payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions. Enter financial data and maintain digital records using Oracle NetSuites. Help prepare basic reports on rail service operations and company expenses. Assist with document organization, compliance tracking, and filing systems. Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal staff.
 
Qualifications & Skills: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Strong communication and organizational skills. Interest in rail, logistics, or transportation industries is a plus. Oracle NetSuite and prior railroad industry accounting experience is a bonus.
 
Compensation & Benefits: Hourly compensation based on experience and successful internal training, $20-$25 Per Hour moving to fixed Salary. Insurance, generous 401k match and other benefits.
