Job description

Our client is looking to hire a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This Staff Accountant will assist with the following: processing accounts receivable/payable transactions, preparing bank reconciliations, preparing maintenance schedules, completing journal entries, maintaining bookkeeping operations, preparing budget analysis, monitoring cash flow updates, preparing financial statements and reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards while collaborating with internal teams. The ideal Staff Accountant will have a strong foundation in real estate or property management accounting.


Everyday Responsibilities

·      Prepare journal entries, general ledger reconciliations and account analysis

·      Assist with daily accounting functions

·      Reconcile and monitor collection accounts

·      Ensure compliance with applicable standards (GAAP)

·      Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts

·      Monitor the record keeping system

·      Stay abreast of accounting standards, financial systems, and regulatory requirements

·      Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation needed

The ideal Staff Accountant will preferably have an Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.


Other requirements for the Staff Accountant role include and are not limited to:

·      3+ years of overall accounting experience

·      Real Estate/Property Mgmt industry experience preferred

·      Proficient Microsoft Office skills, advanced Excel

·      Yardi a huge plus
