Job description

Summary/Objective

The Accounting Clerk works closely with the Controller in assisting and performing a variety of accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures in one or more of the following areas: day-to-day accounting, general ledger posting, inventory, cost allocation, purchasing of equipment and supplies, assisting in IT, audit, accounts payable, reporting, and other related financial activities.

 

Essential Functions

Under direct supervision, the position performs accounting duties, including:

 

Lead:

·         Reconcile cash accounts.

·         Document and/or update job functions in written format.

·         Prepare process and maintaining accounts payable.

·         Prepare financial reports for funders.

·         Maintain inventory lists for all Agency assets.

·         Summarize raw data for cost allocation plan.

·         Reconcile bank accounts.

·         Post to general ledger

·         Conducts cross-checks for quarterly reports.

·         Review semimonthly timesheets for accuracy.

·         Maintain timesheet data collection.

·         Other business transactions pertinent to the operation of a nonprofit organization.

·         Maintain staff benefit records.

·         Safeguards the Agency against waste, fraud, and abuse. 

·         Maintain set of financial records for ECIOARC.

Advocate:

·         Provide appropriate data necessary for policy development and decision making.

Innovate:

·         Develop spreadsheet applications and other reporting forms.

Collaborate:

·         Contacts other outside agencies to resolve problems, as directed.

·         Assists in preparation of annual report.

·         Compiles segments of monthly closings include revenue recognition and journal entry preparation and entry.
