The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is responsible for driving sustainable sales growth across assigned customer accounts. This role partners cross-functionally to develop and execute strategic business plans, support innovation launches, and ensure alignment with broader organizational objectives.

The SAM will manage customer relationships, analyze business performance, and contribute to delivering measurable results, while effectively managing trade investments and operating within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key customer stakeholders to support strong account performance and customer satisfaction
  • Analyze business performance and market trends to inform strategies that support sales growth and customer objectives
  • Collaborate with Sales Strategy and Category Management to develop and implement business plans
  • Execute strategies, programs, and processes that contribute to achieving account and organizational goals
  • Coordinate promotional activities and ensure alignment with customer and business priorities
  • Manage budgets and trade investments responsibly while optimizing return on investment
  • Support forecasting, goal setting, and performance tracking, and communicate insights and progress to leadership
  • Leverage data, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to generate insights, support decision-making, and enhance account performance

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in consumer health, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or related sales environments
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and support business decisions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in both team-based and independent work settings
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency with business tools and systems (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Experience with data or analytics platforms (such as IRI or similar tools) is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability or openness to leveraging digital tools and AI-enabled technologies (e.g., Microsoft Copilot or similar) to analyze data, generate insights, and support decision-making and efficiency

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with drug retail or large national accounts
  • Ability to collaborate across functional teams, including marketing, supply chain, and sales
  • Experience influencing stakeholders and contributing to cross-functional initiatives
  • Track record of supporting business outcomes through data-informed decision making

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting pay for this role is between $135,000.00 and $180,000.00. The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives. They may also be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, disability and life insurance,  a 401(k) plan and company match, a tuition reimbursement program (select degrees), company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive sick time, floating holidays and paid vacation.
