The position of account manager is a common role in both the sales and advertising industries. While the day-to-day expectations may vary by industry, the basic expectations are the same. An account manager is a professional who manages the strategy and business relationship with their customers. After an account has been “won” by the company or agency in question, the account manager is responsible for helping the client reach their goals and ensuring a continued, positive, and profitable relationship. Account managers should understand their client’s long- and short-term needs, and leverage their company’s internal resources (strategy, customer service, creative, etc.) to help meet those goals. They serve as the client’s main point of contact, and will often provide recommendations or “upsells” to enhance their customer’s success.

While both roles involve interacting with clients, Account Managers focus on maintaining and growing client accounts, often with sales responsibilities. Customer Service Representatives primarily handle customer inquiries and support. The roles differ in scope, with Account Managers having a strategic, relationship-building focus, whereas Customer Service Reps focus on resolving issues and providing assistance.

We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to work with our clients to deliver the P10 experience. As a part of the team, you will play a role in building and maintaining strong client relationships, supporting client success and account growth, and ensuring the successful execution of marketing campaigns and tactical pull through. You will be the conduit between our clients and the delivery team, collaborating closely with project management and your core internal team to ensure project delivery and client satisfaction. You have a deep understanding of pharmaceutical marketing, exceptional organizational skills, and a relentless commitment to client satisfaction. You will report to the Director of Client Services or another senior account person.
This role is open to fully remote candidates in the United States located in NY, NJ or PA. Travel will be required up 20% to client sites.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and cultivate strong, long-lasting client relationships.
Support the senior account team in managing client communication - understanding their needs, objectives, and ever-changing challenges.
Proactively work to identify areas of opportunity to add value to your accounts.
Strategic Account Management:
Understand the client’s business, disease area(s), and brand/product strategy.
Work collaboratively with clients and the P10 internal team to develop and execute unique and powerful strategic marketing plans for your brands.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of marketing campaigns and projects.
Financial Oversight:
Support the senior account team to manage account budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
2-4 years of experience in pharmaceutical advertising (or other regulated industry) , including experience with high volume social media campaigns.
Proven track record of building and managing client relationships, continuously delivering successful marketing solutions and achieving revenue growth.
Strong understanding of medical, legal and regulatory compliance and MLR submission and approval process in the United States and/or Canada.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
Ability and desire to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Strong organizational skills.
