Job description

FIPRA is looking for an Account Manager with experience working across chemicals, materials, or productโ€‘related regulatory and sustainability policies. Our team brings over 30 yearsโ€™ expertise advising clients on EU and EEA/UK political and public affairs, REACH, CLP, POPs and RoHS.

As an Account Manager, you will have the opportunity to work in dynamic sectors facing evolving regulatory, political and scientific challenges. Your contribution will help clients navigate the intersection of policy, regulation and industry realities, supporting informed decisionโ€‘making and practical outcomes across multiple fields. We require prior experience in at least one of the following areas: chemicals, (bio)polymers, cosmetics, or adjacent regulated sectors, with substantive policy knowledge or demonstrable exposure to files such as REACH, CLP, ROHS, PFAS, substance restrictions, authorisations, risk management options and substitution requirements.

The position demands expertise and a strong understanding of EU legislative and regulatory processes, as well as awareness of ongoing regulatory debates and their impact on business and value chains. Ideal candidates will be familiar with, or have experience engaging with, relevant stakeholders, key organisations and authorities within the European Commission, EU Member States and the European Parliament.

You will report to and be mentored by the Practice Lead, working closely with colleagues and our Special Advisors to deliver highโ€‘quality outcomes.

In this role, you will assist the practice lead and manage client needs and cases daily, supported by a collaborative and expert team. Clients may need guidance on policy matters and how these intersect with other EU policies, including industrial, environmental, transport and digital. Experience across several policy areas is highly valued.

Roles and responsibilities
  • Managing client relationships and ensuring services are delivered to meet client expectations.
  • Collaborating with other FIPRA practice areas to leverage expertise and resources.
  • Conducting research, monitoring, analysis, and gathering intelligence using both FIPRA resources and your professional network.
  • Lead on the development and rollโ€‘out of advocacy campaigns for clients.
  • Directing new business proposals and pitches, and leading support teams.
Skills & Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Evidence of leading effective public affairs programmes or campaigns.
  • Experience gained within an EU Public Affairs consultancy is preferred, together with experience from a corporate setting, trade association, or EU Institution.
  • A strong knowledge of and expertise preferably in the Chemicals or Industrials sectors in Brussels.
  • A relevant network of EU and national policy makers and stakeholders in these areas.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to identify new business opportunities.
  • Curious by nature with a desire for learning and innovative practices.
  • A high level of motivation and drive for excellence.
  • Eligible to work in Belgium.
