About Acceleration Academies
At Acceleration Academies, we partner with school districts and communities to design and operate flexible education programs that re-engage learners and support high school diploma attainment. State testing is a critical gateway to graduation, and strong testing operations are essential to ensuring that Graduate Candidates have every opportunity to demonstrate proficiency and earn their diploma. The Academy Testing Chair plays a key role in coordinating testing logistics, driving participation, and ensuring full compliance with Florida testing security and administration requirements.
Role Summary
The Academy Testing Chair is responsible for the end-to-end coordination of all site-based state testing activities, including FAST, EOC, and concordant score opportunities. This role focuses on testing logistics, student registration and participation, compliance with Florida security protocols, and the identification and preparation of Graduate Candidates who are close to meeting proficiency.
Working closely with academy leadership and instructional staff members, the Academy Testing Chair ensures every eligible Graduate Candidate is scheduled, prepared, and supported through each testing window, and that all testing administration requirements are completed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all site-based testing logistics, including scheduling, room assignments, and technology preparation
  • Maintain a testing participation tracker to monitor student completion of required assessments, including the monitoring of graduation year cohort data.
  • Ensure all students scheduled for FAST, EOC, and concordant score opportunities are properly registered
  • Conduct testing readiness checks before each testing window
  • Communicate testing schedules and expectations to staff and students
  • Identify students who require testing interventions or additional preparation
  • Work with instructional staff to monitor Graduate Candidates close to meeting proficiency
  • Ensure all testing procedures follow Florida security protocols and compliance guidelines
  • Submit required testing documentation and reports accurately and on time
  • Assist with make-up testing and monitor students who miss scheduled assessments
  • Collaborate with academy leadership to coordinate intervention strategies for students not yet meeting proficiency
  • Represent the Academy in district testing coordinator meetings and communications as needed
  • This role is based on-site in Florida, with testing administration responsibilities during scheduled testing windows
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support Graduate Candidate success and academy operations
  • Success Metrics
  • High participation rates during all testing windows
  • Accurate completion of testing administration requirements
  • Timely identification and scheduling of make-up tests
  • Improved student performance on state assessments
  • Reduction in missed testing opportunities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with state testing administration, preferably in Florida (FAST, EOC, concordant score pathways)
  • Working knowledge of Florida testing security protocols and compliance guidelines
  • Experience working with at-risk youth, alternative education environments, or student support services
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple testing windows and concurrent priorities
  • Comfort with data entry, participation tracking systems, and producing accurate administrative reports
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and rapport with diverse learners and families
  • High drive, personal accountability, and passion for Graduate Candidate success
  • Exceptional communication and follow-through skills

Key Competencies
  • Testing logistics and operational coordination
  • Compliance discipline and attention to detail
  • Data accuracy and timely reporting
  • Proactive communication with staff, students, and families
  • Problem-solving and scheduling agility
  • High level of organization and accountability

Why This Role Matters
State testing is often the final step between a Graduate Candidate and their diploma. The Academy Testing Chair ensures that every eligible GC is registered, prepared, and present for the assessments that matter most, and that the academy meets every Florida compliance and security requirement along the way. By driving participation, supporting Graduate Candidates close to proficiency, and closing the loop on make-up testing, this role directly strengthens graduation outcomes.
