Why join ABC Sheet Metal?

ABC Sheet Metal is a full-service, quality-focused manufacturer in Anaheim serving aerospace, defense, medical, commercial, energy, electronics, packaging, and construction customers. The shop combines CNC machining with precision sheet metal fabrication, laser cutting, forming, welding, and engineering, giving machinists exposure to a broad mix of parts, fixtures, assemblies, and secondary operations.

This first-shift role is for an experienced setup machinist who wants ownership of complete setups and the opportunity to work across Haas 3-axis and 5-axis mills. ABC Sheet Metal maintains AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001:2015 quality systems, so blueprint discipline, inspection, traceability, and consistent process control are central to the work. You will have the opportunity to solve machining and workholding problems, collaborate with programming and quality, and keep developing your 5-axis capabilities in a stable, diversified manufacturing environment.

⚙️ What you'll be doing

  • Set up and operate Haas 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
  • Complete tooling, fixture, workholding, offset, and first-piece setup activities.
  • Read blueprints, setup sheets, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
  • Make basic G-code edits and review Mastercam-generated programs.
  • Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, indicators, and height gauges.
  • Build or modify fixtures, soft jaws, workholding, and setup tooling.
  • Troubleshoot dimensional, tooling, setup, and surface-finish issues.
  • Adjust offsets, speeds, feeds, and tooling to maintain quality.
  • Support manual equipment including a Bridgeport-style mill, band saw, and drill press.
  • Work with programming, quality, and production leadership to improve setup time, cycle time, and part quality.

✅ What we're looking for

Required:

  • Approximately 6-8 years of CNC setup and machining experience.
  • Hands-on Haas mill setup and operation experience.
  • Experience with both 3-axis and 5-axis milling.
  • Blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
  • Ability to make basic G-code edits.
  • Mastercam experience or the ability to review Mastercam-generated programs.

ABC Sheet Metal’s broad customer base and range of in-house capabilities provide variety, while the first-shift schedule and established quality systems offer structure and stability.
