Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Quality Lab Technician is responsible for the daily quality checks of customer products.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Cutting parts

Mounting samples

Checking coating weights

Titrations

Chemical tracking and ordering lab supplies

Inventory tracking

Non-conforming product containment

Performing profiles on furnaces

Hardness checks

Entering results

Setting up rework

Communicating part sampling frequency

Following the environment policy

Prototype sample tracking

PPAP

Microstructure checks

Hardness tester verification

Responsible for passing/failing parts

Following Safety Policy

Ensuring proper PPE use

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS / ABILITIES:

Be able to act with limited supervision while gaining general instructions from their supervisor

Strong communication skills

Preferred experience in a manufacturing setting.

Past experience with a basic knowledge of heat treat principles, microstructures, hardness testing is preferred.

Minimum experience requirements include an understanding of all equipment, processes and procedures for the operation and knowledge of all Aalberts Business Systems (Safety, 5S, AS400).

QUALIFICATIONS:

HS Diploma or GED

Have a general understanding of all processes and procedures for the plant, including safety, quality, production and people.
