Strategic Marketing Manager, Data Center

As a full-time Strategic Marketing Manager in the Marketing Department at Aalberts, based in Charlotte, NC, you will play a critical role responsible for driving Aalberts integrated piping systems Americas growth in the data center market, one of our highest-priority verticals. This role will combine technical understanding, market insight, customer engagement, and strategic execution to strengthen our presence with owners, developers, specifying engineers, contractors, and OEM partners across the data center ecosystem. Reporting to the Strategic Marketing Director, you will lead the development of targeted strategies, selling tools, technical content and relationship building efforts that help Aalberts IPSA improve awareness, positioning and win rates in data center projects. This role works across sales, marketing, strategy, and product teams to shape Aalberts’ solutions, messaging, innovation, and go-to-market approach for this fact-evolving vertical.

your challenge

  • Lead the go-to-market strategy for Aalberts IPS’ high-growth data center vertical, building on a strong foundation to accelerate market expansion and share.
  • Develop and refine the Aalberts value proposition for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center customers.
  • Prioritize strategic accounts, regions, and partners based on opportunity size and market potential.
  • Identify trends, technologies, and competitive activity shaping the data center landscape.
  • Build relationships with specifying engineers, contractors, distributors, OEMs, and owner/developers across the data center ecosystem.
  • Conduct VOC sessions to uncover customer needs, pain points, and innovation opportunities.
  • Represent Aalberts at industry events, tradeshows, customer visits, and technical discussions.
  • Support early-stage project conversations with an understanding of cooling systems, hydronic loops, and mechanical infrastructure common in data centers.
  • Equip Sales and rep agencies with vertical-specific tools, presentations, positioning strategies, and objection-handling guidance.
  • Provide project-level insight and expertise to improve win rates and customer confidence.
  • Train internal teams on data center personas, terminology, market structure, and system-level design fundamentals.
  • Participate in customer-facing opportunities as the subject-matter expert.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Marketing Director to maintain the Data Center Vertical Playbook, including personas, messaging, segmentation, and asset roadmap.
  • Contribute to case studies, white papers, design guides, landing pages, and vertical-focused content.
  • Ensure alignment between messaging, campaigns, and technical solutions.
  • Support development of competitive battlecards and market comparison tools.
  • Work with Product and Engineering to ensure Aalberts products such as press, balancing valves, grooved systems, and butterfly valves are aligned with data center needs.
  • Identify product gaps and future development opportunities related to cooling technologies and mechanical distribution.
  • Support pilot projects and testing efforts for new system solutions.
  • Provide insight to help shape the long-term data center product roadmap.
  • Partner with the Strategic Marketing Director and Salesforce stakeholders to improve visibility into data center opportunities and trends.
  • Track KPIs such as pipeline growth, specification success, project wins, customer engagement, and market penetration.
  • Deliver regular reporting and insights to Sales, Product, and Executive leadership.
  • Complete any additional duties as assigned by the manager.

requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Marketing, or related field.
  • Strong experience in the data center market, including commercial or sales roles, may be considered in lieu of formal educational requirements.
  • 5–7 years of experience in data center mechanical systems, construction, industrial manufacturing, or vertical market development.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, hydronic systems, fluid distribution, or related technical fields or the ability to ramp up quickly.
  • Experience working with engineers, contractors, or other technical decision-makers.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and customer-facing skills.
  • Salesforce or CRM experience preferred.
  • Ability to capture technical insights and translate them into compelling messaging, content, and strategy.
