Job description

SRC, Inc.is currently seeking a highly skilled Staff Cloud Database Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise cloud data infrastructure in support of a federal civilian agency's mission. This role is responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and efficient database architectures across multi-cloud environments with a primary focus on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data architecture, cloud-native database solutions, and interoperability across diverse data systems, with the ability to support mission-focused objectives and enterprise-level digital transformation. This position requires a TS/SCI and is onsite at either the government or contractor facility.

What You'll Do

  • Design and manage enterprise cloud-based data infrastructure to meet evolving operational, analytical, and mission support requirements
  • Lead the development of robust, scalable database designs optimized for cloud deployment, performance, and security
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability across distributed data sources, platforms, and applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data architecture with broader IT strategies and mission delivery objectives
  • Optimize database performance and scalability through query tuning, indexing strategies, and lifecycle management
  • Implement and maintain data security controls, backup and recovery solutions, and compliance measures aligned with federal standards
  • Document database design decisions, configurations, integrations, and operational processes
  • Provide thought leadership on the evolution of the agency's data environment, supporting cloud migration and modernization efforts

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline and 8+ years of in cloud database architecture, management supporting large-scale enterprise environments, and progressive database experience OR Master's degree and 6+ years
  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required
