Job Description:
We are in search of an experienced SQL DBA with 7+ years of experience.
Desired Experience:
SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, and 2014 experience
High level knowledge of SQL Server 2016
Installation, configuration and upgrading of SQL Server server software and related products.
Evaluate SQL Server features and SQL Server related products.
Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures.
Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
Perform database tuning and performance monitoring.
Perform application tuning and performance monitoring.
Setup and maintain documentation and standards.
Plan growth and changes (capacity planning).
Work as part of a team and provide 7x24 support, when required.
Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams.
Interface with Microsoft for technical support.
Good understanding of the SQL Server database, related utilities and tools.
A good understanding of the underlying operating system.
A good knowledge of the physical database design.
Ability to perform both SQL Server and operating system performance tuning and monitoring.
Knowledge of ALL SQL Server backup and recovery scenarios.
A good knowledge of SQL Server security management.
A good knowledge of how SQL Server acquires and manages resources. (Locking)
A good knowledge SQL Server data integrity.
Sound knowledge of the implemented application systems.
Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle.
A sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning.
Should have sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators.
Should have the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
Setting and tuning system parameters.
Tuning the operating system, network, and transaction processors to work with the database.
Enabling the database to work with storage devices and storage management software.
Interfacing with any other technologies required by database applications.
Installing third-party DBA tools.
Hands on experience with SQL Server monitoring
