SQL DATABASE ARCHITECT About the Job: We are seeking an experienced Database Architect to design, administer, and optimize enterprise database platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. This role is responsible for the architecture, implementation, administration, performance, security, and availability of Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL, and AWS database technologies. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who can collaborate with infrastructure, application development, and business teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available database solutions while driving modernization and automation initiatives.

Duties:

• Design, implement, administer, and support enterprise database environments across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Azure, and AWS.

• Install, configure, maintain, patch, and upgrade database platforms and supporting infrastructure.

• Monitor database health, performance, and availability while proactively identifying opportunities for optimization.

• Develop and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions. Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and cloud modernization initiatives.

• Perform database performance tuning, capacity planning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.

• Create and maintain database automation for deployments, maintenance, monitoring, and operational tasks.

• Collaborate with application owners, developers, infrastructure teams, and project stakeholders to design scalable database solutions.

• Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to database architecture and operational processes.

• Lead technical design discussions and provide architectural guidance for enterprise applications.

• Conduct impact assessments and technical reviews for proposed projects and system changes.

• Ensure database environments meet organizational security, compliance, and operational standards.

• Produce and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and operational procedures.

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to project teams and database administrators.

• Coordinate with software vendors to resolve technical issues and support enterprise implementations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• 10+ years of experience administering enterprise database environments.

• 2+ years of experience in a Database Architect or similar technical leadership role.

• SQL scripting, stored procedures, functions, and query optimization

• SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

• SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

• Monitoring tools such as Redgate Monitor or equivalent

• Performance troubleshooting using DMVs, Extended Events, SQL Profiler, and related tools Cloud & Database Platforms

• PostgreSQL administration

• Azure SQL Database

• Azure SQL Managed Instance

• AWS EC2

• AWS RDS

• Experience migrating on-premises databases to Azure is preferred. Additional Skills

• Enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, and hybrid cloud environments

• Automation using PowerShell and Python

• Experience with C# or VB.NET is a plus

ETL processes and related technologies

• Business Intelligence platforms such as Power BI and Amazon QuickSight

• ServiceNow • ITIL practices and IT service management
