Job Title: SQL Development Lead (hybrid- onsite – Monday- Thursday)

Location: US-GA-Atlanta (Sandy Springs)

Job Overview:

The SQL Development Lead will lead and support eCommerce data architecture activities that guide the development, optimization, and management of SQL-based systems and financial rate systems. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity, performance, and scalability of rate changes that support client-facing applications and internal operations. The ideal candidate will bring an AI-first mindset and will oversee a global team of SQL developers and Rate System Analysts, including overseas contributors, to deliver high-quality, accurate changes, and business-aligned solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a distributed team of SQL developers and Rate System Analysts, including overseas team members, ensuring alignment across time zones and cultures.
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of SQL databases, stored procedures, views, and functions to support business applications and analytics.
  • Manage and maintain financial rate tables, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and business requirements.
  • Promote the use of AI tools to enhance data quality, anomaly detection, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with Product and Account Management teams to align rate structures with strategic goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement in database performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Analyze existing data architecture to identify technical debt and recommend modernization strategies.
  • Stay current with emerging data technologies, tools, and best practices, and recommend adoption where appropriate.
  • Coach, mentor, and collaborate with technical subject matter experts and business stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including data models, architecture diagrams, and integration workflows.
  • Ensure data governance, security, and compliance across all database systems and rate platforms.

Job Requirements:

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on SQL development and data architecture experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with AWS Aurora, PostGres is required.
  • Experience with AWS Glue or any other ETL tool is a plus.
  • Proven experience managing global or overseas development teams.
  • Expertise in SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational database systems.
  • Experience with Mongo DB or any other No-SQL Database is a plus.
  • Experience with data integration services such as AWS Glue or SSIS.
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce/Pricing rate systems and data structures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a technical context.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and cross-cultural communication.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (preferred AWS) and deployment strategies.
  • Familiarity with data governance, compliance standards, and security architecture.
