Job description

Our 988 Lifeline Team is currently seeking to fill a variety of positions to provide full- and part-time support, for all scheduled hours — weekdays / nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must demonstrate strong technical proficiency, as this role requires consistently multitasking across multiple technology systems throughout each shift.

At Northwestern Counseling & Support Services, Inc., we are dedicated to providing immediate and compassionate support to individuals in crisis. As a key partner with the 988 Lifeline, our mission is to ensure that everyone has access to the help they need, when they need it the most. We are seeking dedicated 988 Lifeline Responders to join our dynamic team and make a meaningful impact in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide immediate assessment, intervention, and referrals for individuals in crisis as part of NCSS' contracted services with the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
  • Deliver 988 Lifeline services through telephone, chat, and text platforms, ensuring accessibility for all individuals seeking help.
  • Refer clients to appropriate community resources when clinically indicated, ensuring they receive the support they need.
  • Conduct follow-ups via phone, chat, and/or text per 988 Lifeline and NCSS policies to provide ongoing support and monitor client well-being.
  • Be an active, responsive, and supportive member of the Emergency Services & 988 teams, contributing to a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care to individuals in crisis.
