Purchasing Coordinator - Manufacturing, Procurement and Logistics - Base Salary to 60k/year - Houston, TX

  • Our client is a growing manufacturing organization within the building materials and industrial wood products sector, known for producing high-quality products with a strong commitment to sustainability and operational excellence. They are seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to support purchasing, logistics, and inventory operations.
  • This role is ideal for someone with experience in manufacturing or distribution environments who has supported procurement, vendor/supplier coordination, and inbound logistics, including international shipments.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, submit, and manage purchase orders (POs) for raw materials and finished goods, ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, and delivery timelines
  • Coordinate with domestic and international vendors/suppliers, including order tracking, confirmations, and issue resolution
  • Support inbound logistics, including coordination of ocean, air, and ground shipments with freight forwarders, carriers, and trucking providers
  • Track and audit supplier pricing, lead times, and order accuracy within ERP systems (NetSuite or similar)
  • Assist with inventory management processes, including monitoring stock levels, supporting cycle counts, and improving inventory accuracy within a plant or warehouse environment
  • Generate, analyze, and validate reports related to purchasing, inventory, and supplier performance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain and procurement operations
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Production, Finance, and Sales teams

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in supply chain, purchasing, procurement, or logistics within a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Experience creating and managing purchase orders and working with domestic and/or international suppliers
  • Experience coordinating inbound shipments, including working with freight forwarders, carriers, or 3PL providers (import/export exposure preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar (purchasing, procurement, or inventory modules)
