To thrive as a full-time professional at a 60K salary level, you generally need relevant educational credentials, strong domain expertise, and proven experience in your field. Familiarity with industry-standard tools, software, and sometimes specific certifications (such as PMP, CPA, or technical certificates) is often expected. Outstanding communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills distinguish top performers in any full-time role. These competencies enable you to deliver consistent results, collaborate effectively, and advance your career in a competitive job market.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in full-time salaried positions around the $60K range, and how can these be addressed?

Professionals in full-time roles earning around $60K often face challenges such as balancing workloads, managing expectations for career advancement, and navigating company structures. These positions can come with increased responsibilities without always having clear pathways for promotion. To address these challenges, it's important to communicate regularly with supervisors about goals, seek out professional development opportunities, and network within the organization. Building strong relationships with colleagues can also help with collaboration and learning about potential growth within the company.

Job description

Life Insurance Sales Agent โ€“ Hybrid/Remote/In-Person | Raleigh/Triangle Area Commission-Based | Flexible Schedule | Real Earning Potential

What This Job Actually Is

You'll sell life insurance to families over the phone and Zoom. You'll work a mix of inbound leads (people who requested information) and outbound follow-up. You set your own schedule, work from home, and get paid based on what you close.

This is a 1099 commission role โ€” no base salary. If you're self-motivated and consistent, the earning potential is real. If you need a guaranteed paycheck while you ramp up, this likely isn't the right fit.

Realistic Earnings

  • Per sale: $800โ€“$1,200 commission
  • Part-time (20 hrs/week): $30Kโ€“$60K in year one for agents who hit consistent activity
  • Full-time: $60Kโ€“$120K once you've built momentum; higher for top performers
  • Weekly pay

These are realistic ranges, not highlight reels.

What We Provide

  • Inbound and outbound lead options (lead costs and structure discussed in interview)
  • Licensing support if you don't have your Life & Health license yet
  • Step-by-step onboarding and ongoing mentorship
  • Access to 60+ insurance carriers so you can find the right fit for clients
  • Clear path to building and leading your own team

What the Day-to-Day Looks Like

  • Call and Zoom with 8โ€“15 prospects daily
  • Walk families through coverage options and help them choose
  • Track your activity and pipeline
  • Attend weekly training (remote)
  • Follow up consistently โ€” this job rewards discipline more than talent

You're Probably a Fit If

  • You've done phone sales, retail, real estate, or any performance-based role
  • You're comfortable hearing no and moving on quickly
  • You want to control your income and schedule
  • You're willing to get licensed if you aren't already (we'll show you how)

You're Probably Not a Fit If

  • You need a base salary or steady hourly pay right now
  • You prefer in-person work
  • You're not comfortable with daily outbound calling

Requirements

  • U.S. citizen or legal resident living in the U.S.
  • Triangle area preferred, but fully remote
  • Background check required
  • Life & Health License (or willingness to obtain before starting)

How to Apply

No cover letter needed. Send a brief note introducing yourself and telling us about any sales or people-facing experience you have. We'll schedule a 20-minute call to walk through the role honestly and answer your questions.

We'd rather hire five great fits than fifty people who churn out in 90 days.
