Familiarity with industry-standard tools, software, and sometimes specific certifications (such as PMP, CPA, or technical certificates) is often expected. Outstanding communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills distinguish top performers in any full-time role. These competencies enable you to deliver consistent results, collaborate effectively, and advance your career in a competitive job market.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in full-time salaried positions around the $60K range, and how can these be addressed?

Professionals in full-time roles earning around $60K often face challenges such as balancing workloads, managing expectations for career advancement, and navigating company structures. These positions can come with increased responsibilities without always having clear pathways for promotion. To address these challenges, it's important to communicate regularly with supervisors about goals, seek out professional development opportunities, and network within the organization. Building strong relationships with colleagues can also help with collaboration and learning about potential growth within the company.

Schaumburg, IL - Full-Time - $60k - $85k + $2,500 Bonus + Benefits

The Job at a Glance

Unique product sales opportunity for a dynamic, friendly, and engaging salesperson. The Heartland Roadshow, established in 2009, is a premier buyer of estate jewelry, precious metals, gold and silver coins, antiques, and collectibles. If you’ve ever seen “Antiques Roadshow”, this is similar to what we do. We set up scheduled Regional acquisition events locations throughout the region, where customers come to sell us their estate items - primarily gold, silver, coins, and watches, collectables and antiques. This is an acquisition-focused role where success is measured by the quality and volume of inventory purchased rather than traditional outbound sales. No cold calling, no prospecting, and no high-pressure sales - just a friendly and informative process. Our robust, fully paid five-week training program focuses on industry-standard techniques for identifying and authenticating precious metals. No jewelry buying experience is necessary - we provide full training. The most important quality we are looking for is the ability to connect effectively with customers.

Schedule & Travel Expectations

Buyers will be assigned to shows both within their home region and in locations that require extended travel. An example of the standard working schedule follows a consistent two-week cycle but may vary occasionally depending on the business needs:

  • 5 days on / 1 day off / 5 days on / 3 days off
  • Week 1 typically runs Tuesday–Saturday
  • Week 2 typically runs Monday–Friday

Buyers should expect to travel approximately two weeks each month.

Travel is fully paid - both your time, as well as all travel expenses.

Travel may include assignments outside your home region where flights and lodging will be arranged. During these travel periods, your scheduled days off will be spent in the destination city. While you’ll have free time to explore or rest, flying home for personal obligations during off-days is not logistically feasible.

When assigned to shows within your home region, travel is typically done using your own reliable transportation. These assignments may offer more personal scheduling flexibility with advance notice and alignment with business needs.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy variety, are comfortable being on the road, and can commit to a structured schedule with regular travel. There is no cold calling in this role – meet with warm, pre-qualified leads.
