Third Shift Production Supervisor - CNC Machining

Job description

Third Shift Production Supervisor – CNC Machining

Direct-hire, permanent leadership role. Salary is $80,000 to $90,000 a year, plus periodic bonuses.

Melben is hiring a Third Shift Production Supervisor for a manufacturer in the Cleveland, Ohio area with a CNC mill and lathe machining department. This is a direct-hire position on the employer's payroll from day one, not a temp placement.

This is not a machine-running position — the company's CNC seats are fully staffed. This role is about running third shift: managing the machinists on the floor, keeping the department moving, and owning the results of that shift.

This position is permanently third shift. The employer is only interested in people who genuinely want to work nights long-term, not people who are "open to it."

What You Will Do

  • Supervise and lead the third-shift CNC machining department (mills and lathes)
  • Oversee machinists who are running full setups, operating, and editing their own programs
  • Own production output, quality, and staffing for the shift
  • Be the point of accountability on the floor when day-shift management is out

What We Are Looking For

  • Prior experience supervising a CNC machining department, in a real leadership title, for at least a few years
  • Hands-on CNC background yourself — enough to credibly manage people who do full setups
  • A genuine, long-term preference for third shift, not just a willingness to try it
  • Strong communication and floor leadership skills

Why Work Here

  • Direct hire on the employer's payroll from day one, not a temp assignment
  • Leadership role with real ownership of a shift, not just a lead-hand title
  • $80,000 to $90,000 a year, plus periodic bonuses
  • On-site in the Cleveland, OH area

Shift and Pay

  • Shift: 3rd shift, permanent
  • Pay: $80,000 to $90,000 per year, plus periodic bonuses

Physical Requirements

This role involves regular time on a production floor: walking the floor, standing for extended periods, and being available to physically move around a machining department throughout the shift. Reasonable accommodations can be made where it makes sense.
