RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB ACTIVITIES:
1. You are required to punch in and report to your line 15 minutes prior to the start of your shift to ensure adequate communication for shift start up.
2. Be familiar with all safety procedures, including required PPE and emergency procedures.
3. Perform changeovers as required.
4. Anticipate packaging and product needs in advance to minimize downtime.
5. Troubleshoot problems assigned to the operator and assist with other lines as required.
6. Know daily production standards and work to meet or exceed these standards on a daily basis.
7. Ensure quality products are being produced by monitoring weights, seals, batch numbers, print clarity, and seal cut and by performing quality checks as required.
8. Assist the production supervisor by acting as a team leader, coordinating the work of Packers on the operator's assigned line, and other as required, and by assisting with Packer training.
9. Ensure rotation occurs on a regular basis to reduce fatigue and the possibility of injury.
10. Ensure worksheet instructions and all paperwork are accurately, neatly and completely filled out.
11. Maintain a neat, orderly and clean work environment throughout the shift.
12. Be able to set up and troubleshoot counting conveyors, jet printers, tape machines, and other auxiliary equipment.
13. Perform other duties and overtime as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: One to two years of previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
KNOWEDLEGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Manual dexterity, ability to maintain speed in picking of parts. Accuracy of basic math skills, basic reading and writing skills for paperwork. Good verbal communication skills are required to communicate and work with people in a leadership role. Flexibility, diplomacy and initiative are necessary.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED Machinery, counting conveyors, tape machines, jet printers, pallet jacks, Spartan, and skid wrapper.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently is required.
