Job description

Digital Shelf Specialist

For over 25 years, Forever Cheese has been a leading importer of cheese and specialty food, sourcing exceptional products from Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Croatia. The company also welcomed W.A. Imports – an importer, manufacturer, and distributor of premium Asian specialty foods to the Forever Cheese family in 2023.

We've built our business on the following values:

  • Passion gives us purpose. We are energized by our work in the world of food—the discovery of products, the combinations of flavors, the sharing of recipes, the stories of our suppliers, the growth of our employees and the success of our customers.
  • Nobody gets us like our community. We believe in the power of food to open minds, spark adventure and bring diverse people together.
  • Education is what we do. We are proud to be food nerds. From product origins and creator stories to product care and knowledge, to storage, serving, and tasting—we bring our products to a wider audience, inspiring an interest and appreciation for the diversity of flavors and cultures that our products represent.
Overview

We are seeking a hands-on detail-driven Digital Shelf Specialist to execute and maintain the digital shelf across our portfolio. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, this role keeps every product accurate, on-brand, and discoverable across retailer platforms, syndication systems, and our owned site. The Specialist is the day-to-day operator of the digital shelf and the first line of defense against content errors, sync failures, and platform inconsistencies.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain product detail accuracy across internal systems and external platforms, including product names, descriptions, attributes, imagery, and PDP-level details on Instacart, Whole Foods Market on Amazon, Kroger, DoorDash, Amazon, Sprouts, Albertsons and Shaw's.
  • Operate the syndication pipeline across platforms like Syndigo, RIVIR, 1WorldSync, and KeHE Connect, including data entry, refresh management, and resolution of platform-flagged errors against documented procedures.
  • Coordinate the visual content pipeline by creating sample requests, tracking samples to and from photography, ingesting approved assets into internal systems and external platforms according to retailer specs (pixel count, dimensions, formatting), and routing creative agency output for review.
  • Maintain the internal retailer spec reference library, keeping image requirements, copy character limits, and attribute schemas current as platforms evolve.
  • Execute PDP and brand page updates on Instacart, WFMOA, and other platforms against playbooks and checklists provided by the Marketing Manager.
  • Maintain product content on brand landing pages, including new launch updates, retired SKU removals, and imagery refreshes.
  • Run scheduled digital shelf audits across retailers and surface exceptions, errors, and inconsistencies to the Marketing Manager with recommended fixes.
  • Support new placement readiness by completing pre-launch content checks against the readiness checklist before retail media campaigns activate.
  • Support catalog and item setup work across customer and distributor platforms in coordination with sales leads.
What You Will Bring to This Role
  • 2-4 years of experience in digital shelf, e-commerce content, marketing operations, or a related execution-focused role. CPG experience preferred.
  • Working experience with at least one data syndication or PIM/DAM platform for eCommerce listings such as Syndigo, RIVIR, 1WorldSync, or Salsify. Comfort learning new platforms quickly is essential.
  • Familiarity with at least one retailer media platform such as Amazon Ads, Kroger Ad Platform/Kroger Precision Marketing, or Instacart Ads.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. You catch the misspelled attribute, the cropped hero image, the wrong pack size, before they go live.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and comfort with Microsoft 365 collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in Canva or Adobe Creative Suite for asset review, cropping, format conversion, and minor edits.
  • Clear written communication. You can document a process, write a clean status update, and brief a contractor or agency without ambiguity.
