Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a new Palliative Care unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.

Details
  • Work setting is an inpatient hospital Palliative Care unit (11th floor)
  • Patient population includes those with serious illness requiring symptom management, such as uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and fatigue
  • This is a newly opening unit; travelers starting before the unit opens will float to other inpatient units until orientation is complete
  • Floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity is required
  • Rotating day/night schedule (3x12-hour shifts); shift assignments are determined by department needs and reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
  • Day shift hours: 7:00–19:30; Night shift hours: 19:00–7:30
  • Epic EMR experience is required
Requirements
  • Active OH or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as a 2nd reference; co-worker references are not accepted
Additional Information
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are accepted
  • Former employees of the facility are eligible after a 6-month separation period
  • Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after accepting the position; candidates outside Ohio will need to travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location or will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently
  • Multiple parking options are available on campus for agency staff, ranging from a convenient medical center garage to budget surface lot options with shuttle service
