Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and Epic proficiency, with first-time travelers welcome to apply.

Details
  • Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital environment
  • General ED serving combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Level I and Level II Trauma Center designation
  • STEMI and Stroke certified facility
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5 depending on staffing and volume
  • 13-week assignment
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am
  • Weekend requirement of 2 shifts or 4 weekend days per 6-week period
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic EMR system
  • Floating to any campus within the health system may be required
Requirements
  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Preferred certifications: CPI, PALS, and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Previous Charge RN experience preferred
  • Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
  • Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency nursing care across a broad patient population including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases
  • Care for patients with conditions such as CVA, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and gunshot wounds
  • Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance, with up to two attempts allowed
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
  • Third-party education verification is required as part of compliance
