Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit / Trauma Care Stepdown position requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications along with neuro and trauma care experience.

Details
  • Trauma Care Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (K7, K Tower) with 44 beds and 95 staff members
  • Day and night shift staffing grid includes 2 CNC/Charge, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC
  • Patient ratios of 4:1 at grid, stretched to 5:1
  • Uses IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trach care equipment, and patient lifts
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • 13-week assignment
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required to stepdown units and med-surg units
Requirements
  • Active RN license (NC or Compact)
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
  • 2+ years of nursing experience required
  • Neuro and Trauma Care experience required
  • No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US Social Security Number and Date of Birth required for consideration (Canadian SSNs not accepted)
  • Professional references required (2 for FL/MO, 1 for all other states)
Additional Information
  • Perform neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace application
  • Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, and IV infusions
  • Assist with lumbar drains, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions
  • Team-oriented, patient-focused personality preferred
  • Scrub color/attire: navy blue
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
