Job description

COLUMBUS EARLY LEARNING CENTERS IS LOOKING FOR YOU!


Columbus Early Learning Centers is looking for dedicated early childhood professionals to assist the Executive Team in continuing its mission to do whatever it takes to deliver the best early learning experiences and family support so that every child we serve succeeds in school and in life.

The Center Director works under the guidance of the Chief Program Officer and the Executive Team to oversee the daily operations of the center while demonstrating exceptional professional conduct and consideration for the educational development, safety and welfare of the enrolled children, their families, and center staff. The Center Director provides appropriate coaching and support to team members to ensure successful implementation of all state regulations and CELC policies and procedures. The Center Director must have excellent organizational skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to attend to details and deadlines, and the ability to follow directions and multi-task in a busy early learning center.

Potential candidates need to have a thorough understanding of ODJFS Child Care Licensing Rules and Step Up To Quality Guidelines, as well as experience using The Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold in an early childhood setting. Experience with Publicly Funded Child Care, Early Head Start and Head Start program standards is preferred, as is experience with the Ohio Department of Education’s Early Childhood Expansion Grant and Early Start Columbus.

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field OR Career Pathway Level of 4 or higher in Ohio Professional Registry

Must have at least three years’ experience administering a highly rated childcare center, preferred.
