The Ohio Army National Guard has a requirement to ensure medical readiness for over 9500 Service Members by providing services directly promoting comprehensive medical readiness and ensuring global deployability. The execution of non-clinical case management services every day. The personnel must work diligently and meticulously to coordinate, maintain, and organize with the Soldiers, Units, Medical Readiness NCOs (MRNCOs), and State Surgeon's Office Personnel to ensure each Soldiers' individual cases are being processed, organized, and updated to maintain each Soldiers' records for their medical readiness and deployability.

Job Description:

General Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain access to all required systems and modules to include Electronic Case Management (eCase), Medical Operational Data Systems (MODS), Medical Electronic Data Care History and Readiness Tracking (MEDCHART) systems, Medical Protections System (MEDPROS), and Health Readiness Record (HRR); and all functional administrative programs necessary to run these programs.

Obtain Release of Information (ROI) from Service Member. Process and maintain ROI requests for all service members in case management process. Sends completed ROI to appropriate civilian provider. Tracks all ROIs sent to civilian providers for timely compliance. Conducts follow-up with civilian providers within 30 days of transmission of ROI when medical records are not received.

Participate in case reviews as needed to ensure that every Service Member with an open case is being tracked, managed, and communicated. Case reviews will be conducted monthly, at a minimum, at the direction of the profiling officer.

Participate in assigned Unit's Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) Events. 40 SRP dates per year, 200-320 Soldiers per day and multiple MRE Events monthly. This can be broken down to 9-15 events per Case Manager/Case Coordinator, depending on Brigade assignment. Pre-screens of Units' medical status for existing medical conditions prior to event. The Case Coordinator will assist the Case Manager and MRNCO in initial processing and gathering required medical documentation.

Assists Soldiers in scheduling appointments with appropriate medical and dental facilities.

Communicate with delegated Government personnel (at minimum, Battalion (BN) and Brigade (BDE) Medical Readiness NCOs (MRNCOs), Unit Readiness NCOs (RNCOs), State Surgeon's Office Personnel, and Health Services personnel, to track compliance versus noncompliance.

Collection and reporting of metrics of Soldiers who have outstanding medical and/or dental issues for all cases assigned. This includes the administrative workload of preparing, maintaining, and filling of spreadsheets or reports of this data, on all Soldiers with medical and/or dental issues.

Provide case processing of medical/dental documentation and profile concerns for review and submit to the appropriate Case Manager and State Surgeon's Office Personnel.

Gather and prepare all required documents needed for Service Members entering the Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES). Initiates new case in MEB Prep System immediately upon receipt of Medical Disqualification Memorandum. All documentation received pertaining to the Soldiers' cases will be uploaded into MEB Prep. Submits completed MEB Prep packet to the MEB Coordinator and manager.

Perform other duties related to the Medical Readiness of Ohio Army National Guard Soldiers as needed/required. Additional duties can include but are not limited to:

o Follow-up communications with Soldiers, Units, MRNCOs, and State Surgeon's Office Personnel to coordinate follow-up care.

o Facilitate Medical Readiness programs for deploying and re-deploying Soldiers.

o Case preparation for existing and future Medical Readiness programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Ohio or Direct Service Social Worker as Non-Clinical Case managers with current Ohio credentials, or a person with a bachelor's degree in a Health-related field and one year's experience as a Case Manager.
  • Minimum of one (1) yearas a Case Manager and supervisory experience to manage the contractors. This Case Manager will also manage all Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) cases; communicating with the field to assist Service members through the process until separation.
  • Demonstrated experience working with DoD medical systems and readiness processes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) and deployment medical standards.
  • Proficiency in DoD medical and readiness systems, including MEDPROS, MEDCHART, MODS, eCASE, and MHS GENESIS.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases independently while meeting strict regulatory timelines.
  • Excellent communication skills with Soldiers, leadership, and medical stakeholders.

Work Environment

  • Non-clinical setting supporting military medical readiness operations.
  • Combination of office, event-based, and potential field support during MREs and SRP events.
  • May require travel and flexible scheduling based on operational requirements.
  • As an SCA position this pays $5.09/hour up to 40 hours/week for benefits
