Position Summary

The Plant Operations Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and successful completion of capital improvement projects, operational initiatives, and facility enhancements within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role impacts Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, and Supply Chain to deliver projects that improve productivity, increase operational efficiency, enhance equipment reliability, and support long-term business growth. The Plant Operations Project Manager will manage multiple concurrent projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring all initiatives are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This position requires a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to effectively coordinate cross-functional teams while minimizing disruption to daily manufacturing operations. This position has flexible hours. Only candidates that submit both resume and salary requirements will be considered.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of project management experience within a manufacturing, food processing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), distribution, or industrial production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing capital improvement (CAPEX) projects from planning through execution and project closeout.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, facility infrastructure, production equipment, utilities, and maintenance systems.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing priorities, schedules, budgets, and available resources.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, equipment suppliers, engineering firms, and cross-functional internal teams.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety standards, environmental compliance, and risk management practices.
  • Experience utilizing project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Primavera, AutoCAD, or similar software.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience developing project budgets, tracking expenditures, and controlling project costs.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or Operational Excellence methodologies is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and operational reporting tools.
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments, including occasional travel to support vendors, contractors, or other company facilities as business needs require.
