Automotive Service Writer

At Coughlin Automotive, we've got more business than we can handle and need you! Coughlin is currently looking for an experienced Service Writer/Advisor for our Marysville Chrysler location.

The Service Advisor serves as the primary point of contact for all automotive service customers and responsible for building strong customer relationships. They greet and consult customers on service needs, perform a thorough vehicle walk around inspection as part of the write-up, sell and up sell services by emphasizing value, keep customers updated on services, field all live service calls, and take ownership of the customers' experience by carrying out those additional assignments that allow the dealership to leave an impressionable experience with the customer.

Coughlin Automotive is one of the fastest-growing dealerships in Central Ohio with over 1,000 vehicles in stock. We have seventeen locations spread across Newark, Pataskala, Circleville, Heath, Chillicothe, Lancaster, Lewis Center, Dublin and Marysville as well as seventeen service centers and four collisions centers. We carry thirteen brands including Buick, Chrysler, GMC, Ford, Chevrolet, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Cadillac, Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan, and Kia, -- and our service, body and parts departments are unmatched in the industry.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Works with customer and technician to identify required maintenance.
  • Advises customers on necessary and recommended services.
  • Offers additional services and repairs to customers.
  • Computes cost of replacement parts and labor to restore vehicle to condition specified by customer.
  • Estimates cost of mechanical, electrical, or other repairs.
  • Enters itemized estimate on service order and explains estimate to customer.
  • Schedules appointments with customer.
  • Meets dealership's standards for repair and order production.
  • Maintains CSI at or above Company standards
  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area
  • Participates in required training
  • Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system
  • Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.
  • Complies with Company policies and procedures
  • Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: Previous experience in automotive or customer service industries. Working knowledge of the mechanical operations of vehicles. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
