Overview

Working across the globe, V2X builds smart solutions designed to integrate physical and digital infrastructure from base to battlefield. We bring 120 years of successful mission support to improve security, streamline logistics, and enhance readiness. Aligned around a shared purpose, our $3.9B company and 16,000 people work alongside our clients, here and abroad, to tackle their most complex challenges with integrity, respect, responsibility, and professionalism.

V2X is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to serve as the technical lead for the design, implementation, and security of enterprise-level network infrastructure. This role is responsible for architecting resilient, scalable, and mission-ready network solutions that support modernized communications, data transport, and operational technology systems critical to base operations.

As a senior technical authority, you will lead the integration of routing, switching, firewall, and wireless technologies across both legacy and next-generation environments. This position ensures alignment with Department of Defense cybersecurity frameworks, network performance standards, and evolving mission requirements while supporting secure, reliable, and highly available network operations.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a senior network engineer with multi-disciplined experience across wired, wireless, and mobile broadband solutions.
  • Understand requirements and create network designs and topology artifacts that meet or exceed connectivity, availability, reliability, and security service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Lead the development of network designs, implementation plans, and technical policies based on customer performance criteria and specifications.
  • Lead site surveys and network assessments to identify appropriate hardware and software solutions for network upgrades and modernization efforts.
  • Lead preliminary and final SPRIP development.
  • Ensure installations are performed in accordance with safety standards and site requirements, including restoration of the work area to original or better condition.
  • Provide post-deployment over-the-shoulder training to Operations & Maintenance (O&M) personnel to support transition and sustainment of network systems.
  • Design and implement routing policies and load-balancing solutions using BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP routing protocols.
  • Create cybersecurity artifacts including topology and data-flow diagrams, hardware and software inventories, STIG checklists, ports/protocols/services documentation, and POA&Ms.
  • Design and implement secure network, system, and application architectures.
  • Implement and support network management capabilities including SNMP, SYSLOG, and orchestration tools.
  • Create bills of material (LOMs) capturing major components and installation materials required for successful deployment of systems.
  • Prepare or contribute to technical deliverables, reports, and performance metrics, as applicable.
  • Ensure network solutions comply with applicable Department of the Air Force (DAF) policies and approved IT integration requirements.
  • Coordinate with local Communications Squadron and/or regional cybersecurity teams to configure, turn up, and cut over new deployments.
  • Assist O&M personnel in troubleshooting network-related issues following deployment of new systems.
  • Resolve complex technical issues involving network infrastructure, hardware, and software, applying advanced expertise across multiple work assignments.
