    Job description

    TSMC Arizona is looking for a Senior Fire Protection Design Engineer to join our 4-nanometer fab, located in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. As a Life Safety Systems Engineer, you will demonstrate a strong sense of reliability and enthusiasm and will possess an attitude that embodies our core values - Integrity, Commitment, Innovation and Customer Trust.

    TSMC Arizona's New FAB Design Department is responsible for designing code-compliant life safety systems, including, but not limited to, fire alarm, fire suppression, emergency responder radio coverage, firefighter air replenishment, and gas detection.

    Job Description:

    Your main responsibilities include:

    • Define design parameters for life safety systems based on TSMC Operations and Manufacturing requirements for end-state use, code requirements, and industry best practices.
    • Support engineering design, analysis, calculations and specifications for facility infrastructure fire and life safety systems.
    • Respond to requests for information during the bidding, design, and construction process.
    • Document technical decisions and key data during fast-paced meetings and construction sequencing.
    • Review conceptual designs and construction documents to ensure compliance with code requirements and TSMC standards.
    • Perform periodic inspections of construction progress to ensure compliance with permitted designs.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States and have:

    • Bachelor's degree in fire protection, electrical, or mechanical engineering or related engineering field.
    • A minimum of five years of technical experience in the pharmaceutical, semiconductor, or similar high-tech industry.  
    • Working knowledge in IBC, IFC, NFPA 13, and NFPA 72. Familiarity with City of Phoenix amendments is a plus.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and demonstrated familiarity with work management systems.
    • Action and results oriented with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a past-faced environment.
    • Proactive communication with diplomacy and tact.
    • Ability to walk for extended periods of time in a cleanroom suit.
