TSMC Arizona is looking for a Construction Project Engineer to join our F21 Industrial Reclamation Water Plant ("IRWP"), located in sunny Phoenix, Arizona. Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Construction Project Engineer is responsible for participating in the Design and Construction of the new IRWP (all phases). Our systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without factory interruption, creating a state-of-the-art industrial process treatment environment.

As a Construction Project Engineer you may work closely with the engineer of record, general contractors, subcontractors, TSMC facility teams, suppliers, and vendors. Your responsibilities may include finalizing the AHJ permitting and inspection process, qualifying construction proposals, qualifying detailed unit price estimates. You will also confirm that work in place complies with contract documents and implement TSMC's QA/QC process.

Additionally, you will help drive the master schedule critical path completion, minimize change orders, enable optimized systems start-up, testing, reliability and quality activities. This role also participates in key stakeholder field office meetings to resolve issues. The Construction Project Engineer initiates task force level focus as necessary to ensure project milestones are met. Reports up and out all coordinated path forward.

Core duties and responsibilities:

  • Drive safety-first approaches, ensuring all operations meet rigorous safety standards.
  • Oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of the IRWP across all phases.
  • Planning, scheduling, and survey of work in place according to plan.
  • Conduct reviews of constructability, technical designs, and contract documents.
  • Evaluate project submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), estimates, and proposals.
  • Benchmark progress against baseline schedules and drive critical path completion.
  • Collaborate daily with engineers of record (EOR), general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Manage permitting and inspections, construction proposals, unit price estimates, quality control processes, and schedule milestones.
  • Tackle technical challenges and implement innovative solutions that enable project success.
  • Foster effective cross-team communication and resolve field issues in alignment with project goals.
  • You'll report on progress, offer recommendations, and contribute to achieving key project milestones, playing a critical role in shaping a facility that leads the way in industrial water reclamation technology.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in building industrial water/wastewater projects (water reclamation plant experience is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Highly enthusiastic about construction phases of complex process treatment facilities.
  • A proactive problem solver with independent thinking and operational abilities.
  • Driven by innovation, always seeking optimal solutions to technical challenges.
  • Strong project management skills and communication expertise; semiconductor fab process wastewater experience is an advantage.

Physical Requirements

  • This role spends extended hours working inside and outside in all weather conditions, and in awkward body positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain.
  • This roll frequently transports or moves items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • The position encounters sharp, hot, and cold equipment and parts.
  • There are times where this role is required to wear a personal respirator.
  • Sensory demands include exposure to the smells associated with industrial chemical operations, exposure to the sounds associated with powered tools and industrial equipment.
  • This role frequently moves throughout the facility utilizing ladders, working at elevation from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, roofs, or platforms, and the ability to work in confined spaces.

Standard work hours: Monday through Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM 

Candidates must be willing and able to work on-site at our Phoenix, Arizona facility.
