    Job description

    Overview:

    • We are seeking an experienced Surveyor/GPS Technician with a background in civil construction.
    • The ideal candidate will be passionate about heavy highway and civil construction projects, including earthwork, paving, structures, and underground utilities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide construction layout data and machine control/survey models to support field production.
    • Create, manage, and maintain project layout data and machine control files.
    • Establish and maintain standardized GPS survey models for project operations.
    • Schedule and coordinate work with field operations.
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for GPS construction layout.
    • Perform calculations related to alignments, drainage, structures, and roadway modeling.
    • Conduct quality control checks on data and survey calculations.
    • Collaborate with field teams to guide the utilization of GPS construction data.
    • Address problems and adapt to changing project needs.
    • Perform job duties while upholding company values.
    • May lead or direct the work of others.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of six months of experience in GPS and construction field layout, particularly in heavy civil construction.
    • Proficient with Trimble survey equipment and software (Trimble Business Center, GPS base, and Rover).
    • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
    • Familiarity with heavy highway and survey practices.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting project demands.

    Education/Experience:

    • Prior experience in heavy civil construction.
    • Six months of hands-on experience with GPS and construction layout.

    Must Have:

    • Previous experience with Heavy Civil Construction
    • Previous experience with Bridges
    • Trimble Software Experience
    • Previous experience with GPS & Construction Layout

    Nice to Have:

    • Project Management experience
