Summary

Under direct guidance from the IT Engineering Supervisor this position provides Engineering guidance based on the priorities of the organization. A member of the Enterprise Engineering support team responsible for leading operational activities, coordinating resources, maintaining adherence to procedures and policies. This includes enterprise compute, storage, backup, virtualization, datacenter, SQL, application deployment, application security, printer management, patch management, Windows Server and Desktop, mobile devices, and virtual desktops. A resource for IT Engineers with escalated issues.

Position Reports To: IT - Network Service Manager


Essential Functions
  1. Monitors and responds to request and incident tickets assigned to team and provides prompt updates to keep requestor informed, working to resolve all issues in a timely manner.

  2. Creates and maintains Systems, Application and Endpoint documentation and updates documentation to reflect change.

  3. Proactively identifies performance and operational issues using trending activities and reports.

  4. Manages the logging, documenting, and communication of problems and resolutions.

  5. Implements and Designs Cyber Security Efforts as identified by Information Security

  6. Supports reporting metrics on activities and completions to leadership though dashboards or other key written updates.

  7. Creates and maintains short and long-term architecture plans and upgrade strategies.

  8. Provides detailed project management documentation for all major IT Engineering projects and strategic plans.

  9. Leads the recovery from a disaster or a major network or system outage.

  10. Performs capacity planning, monitoring and reporting, assisting in auditing and documentation.

  11. Responsible for maintaining and updating all Systems Infrastructure, Application Infrastructure and Endpoint devices. Identifies, evaluates, recommends, and implements new technologies.

  12. Serves as an escalation point for Application Analysts and Solutions Techs.

  13. Follows change management procedures and requirements provided by the organization.

  14. Participates in On-Call rotation and responds in a timely manner as defined by management.

  15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, other IT related field or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years in Information Technology with 3+ years in Systems or Application Engineering.
  • One certification from the following VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA), Citrix Certified Associate (CCA), Microsoft Azure Certified Fundamentals or Microsoft 365 Certified Fundamentals or other relevant Engineer Certification.
  • Ability to perform in high paced environment, updating and improving documentation as improvements and changes are made.
  • Team oriented, participating in collaboration on leading best business practices. Organized and can prioritize work with minimal supervision.

Desired:

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certified Professional (CCP), Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified Endpoint Administrator Associate, or Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate or other relevant Engineer Certification.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, troubleshooting and documentation skills. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and educate diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to use logical thinking to solve practical problems and interpret instructions for complex oral or written processes.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical manuals, and government regulatory guidelines. Ability to learn new technology quickly.
