Looking for an opportunity with clear path for advancement, great culture, an incredible benefits package with EXTREMELY low premiums/deductible and a PENSION PLAN!!! Our client, a very reputable company, has all of this. They are looking for a Staff Accountant due to an upcoming retirement!

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain and manage general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and account analyses for financial reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Support the annual external audit by preparing schedules, documentation, and audit requests.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
  • CPA or CPA eligibility required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive/related accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Public accounting experience a plus.
  • Experience supporting annual audits and financial statement preparation preferred.
