Business Process Engineer

Aptean

Alpharetta, GA • On-site

Full-time

Job description

Overview
We're looking for a Business Process Engineer to join our office inAlpharetta, GA. This is a full-time, onsite position. You'll join an awesome team to support our growing operations.
About the role
You'll partner directly with business leaders on Aptean's highest-priority transformation initiatives, helping define how work gets done across the company as we scale and evolve. This is not a role focused on a single function or workflow. One project might involve redesigning a commercial motion such as order-to-cash or renewals; the next could center on customer onboarding, pricing and packaging, acquisitions integration, service delivery, product operations, support, finance processes, or other cross-functional business transformations.
Your responsibility is to bring structure to ambiguity: understanding how work happens today, identifying where processes break down, designing better ways of operating, and ensuring those changes become embedded in day-to-day execution. You'll work closely with senior leaders across the business, challenging assumptions, aligning stakeholders around a common approach, and influencing decisions that shape how Aptean operates.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with senior business leaders to redesign and optimize end-to-end processes across a wide range of transformation initiatives, including commercial, operational, customer, product, finance, and post-acquisition integration efforts.
  • Map current-state workflows, uncover inefficiencies and handoff gaps, and design future-state operating models with clear ownership, accountability, and decision rights.
  • Lead process design workstreams across multiple concurrent transformation programs, ensuring process thinking is embedded from the outset rather than applied after decisions have already been made.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, facilitating conversations, challenging existing approaches when needed, and driving alignment around future-state solutions.
  • Serve as an objective, enterprise-wide perspective for teams that are invested in their current ways of working.
  • Navigate complex stakeholder environments, balancing competing priorities while maintaining focus on business outcomes and long-term scalability.
  • Partner with the Change Management lead to ensure new processes are adopted, measured, and sustained.
  • Establish the methodologies, standards, tools, and playbooks that will define Process Engineering at Aptean as this capability is built from the ground up.

About you
To excel in this role, you should have:
  • 5+ years of experience in process engineering, business transformation, operational excellence, business architecture, or management consulting within complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Proven ability to lead ambiguous, cross-functional transformation initiatives and translate broad business objectives into practical operating models, processes, and governance structures.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, facilitate difficult conversations, and drive alignment without direct authority.
  • Comfortable acting as a thought partner and advisor to leadership teams, not simply executing a predefined set of requirements.
  • Skilled at balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution, moving seamlessly between high-level operating model discussions and detailed process design.
  • Entrepreneurial and energized by building new capabilities, frameworks, and ways of working from scratch.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a track record of navigating competing priorities across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Experience in identifying opportunities for process simplification, standardization, automation, and scalability.

To be ahead of the pack you might have:
  • Experience leading enterprise-wide transformation programs spanning multiple business functions rather than a single department.
  • Exposure to initiatives such as customer lifecycle transformation, support modernization, service delivery optimization, pricing transformation, acquisition integration, operating model design, digital transformation, or commercial process improvement.
  • Demonstrated success building a process improvement or transformation capability from the ground up.

What's in it for you?
You'll be the first dedicated change management hire supporting one of our newest functions, with the chance to build the playbook for how change actually sticks at Aptean. If you've ever watched a good process die on the vine from lack of follow-through, this is the role where you get to fix that, starting with our highest-visibility transformation initiatives.
