Job description

TITLE: Winder Operator B

 

POSITION OBJECTIVE:  Reports to Extruder Technician in supporting Flexpack Department operations and to produce the highest quality product meeting the customer specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mechanical aptitude desirable.
  • Six months previous production experience required.1-year production line experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complies with all written and verbal safety rules, SQF (Food Safety) and procedures.
  • Keeps all assigned work areas clean and safe.
  • Reports to Extruder Technicians on production status.
  • Responsible with Extruder Technician for meeting or exceeding production standards.
  • Assist Extruder Technician on set ups or changeovers, as required.
  • Assist in training new personnel and shares workload, as needed.
  • Must be able to read and understand production instructions.
  • Must be able to understand and fill out production ticket correctly.
  • Must be able to load and unload winder correctly.
  • Must know winder control panel and operate controls correctly.
  • Must know slit seal operation and safety: control panel, adjustments, cleaning.
  • Must know proper thread up of entire line: tower, press, bag machine, and winder.
  • Must know film, print and packaging quality checks.
  • Monitors production and packaging equipment and operates in accordance to instructions.
  • Must know and perform proper packing, stacking, and labeling techniques.
  • Must know proper cutting and lifting techniques and perform each safely.
  • Must know basic knowledge of bag making process and be able to explain.
  • Pass all Master training courses with minimum score of 80.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities as deemed necessary by Sr. Lead/Supervisor.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

  • Inside environmental conditions, protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.
  • Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be hard above the noise level.
  • Subject to vibration, exposure fluctuating movements of the body.
