Job Summary:
Google DeepMind is a pioneering AI lab focused on advancing AI development to solve complex global challenges. The Technical Program Management Lead for AI Studio will build and lead a high-performing team, collaborating with researchers and engineers to drive mission-critical AI-first architecture and ensure successful project execution.
Responsibilities:
• Build and grow a high-performing team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs), aligning their professional growth and development with 2026 strategic priorities.
• Collaborate closely with researchers and engineers to translate complex, open-ended research questions into structured milestones and execution plans.
• Oversee objective-setting processes and proactively track, manage, and report on critical project dependencies to avoid downstream delays.
• Build strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders and coordinate communication to ensure alignment across multiple executive leaders.
• Own and lead key program operations, including weekly AI Studio Key Results (KR) reviews, to maintain high accountability and focus.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in technical program management.
• 7 years of experience in leadership roles with/without direct reports.
• Experience serving in a technical program management role within the AI or Machine Learning space.
Preferred:
• Experience building and managing technical teams within high-growth or fast-paced startup environments.
• Experience operating within a formal Program Management Office (PMO) or equivalent organizational structure.
• Experience partnering with senior engineering and research leadership, bringing clear and straightforward solutions to complicated technical or challenges.
• Ability to quickly master unfamiliar technical domains, assess underlying risks, and contribute directly to technical strategy and challenges.
• A strong passion for advancing artificial intelligence combined with an innovative mindset comfortable with rapid change.
