Strategy & Operations Manager – Sales Development & Marketing


About the Role

The Strategy & Operations Manager for Sales Development (SD) and Marketing will play a critical role in shaping and driving strategic initiatives to accelerate the next phase of growth for Google Cloud’s Sales Development and Marketing teams integrating AI. This role focuses on defining, implementing, and optimizing the strategy for SDR team expansion while partnering with agencies and internal stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is a data-driven strategist with strong analytical skills, excellent cross-functional collaboration abilities, and a passion for optimizing sales development and marketing operations. You will be responsible for identifying key insights, implementing scalable solutions, and ensuring continuous improvement to maximize business impact.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for augmenting the SDR team, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Partner with internal teams and external agencies to refine processes, enhance workflows, and implement best practices for SDR and marketing operations.
  • Align SDR and marketing strategies with broader revenue goals, optimizing lead generation, pipeline acceleration, and sales enablement efforts.

🔹 Operational Excellence & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and operational teams to improve SDR team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Establish standardized processes for tracking and measuring SDR and marketing performance, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • Act as a bridge between marketing, sales, and leadership teams to drive cohesive and integrated growth strategies.

🔹 Insights, Analytics & Performance Measurement

  • Analyze key performance metrics, market trends, and business insights to refine SDR and marketing strategies.
  • Monitor and report on SDR team performance, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Develop data-driven recommendations to enhance productivity, conversion rates, and overall revenue impact.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance SDR and marketing operations.

Qualifications & Must-Haves

✔ Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Analytics, or a related field.
  • MBA or advanced degree (preferred but not required).

✔ Experience & Expertise:

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, operations, business development, or a related role, preferably within sales development, marketing, or go-to-market functions.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing business strategies to optimize sales and marketing operations.

✔ Strategic & Analytical Mindset:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
  • Experience with performance metrics, KPIs, and data visualization tools (e.g., Salesforce, Tableau, Google Analytics).

✔ Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Management:

  • Ability to influence and work with diverse teams, including sales, marketing, operations, and leadership.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading initiatives across multiple stakeholders.

✔ Execution & Operational Efficiency:

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong ability to drive efficiency, process improvements, and scalable solutions.

✔ Communication & Leadership:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present insights and strategies clearly.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment on key initiatives.

✔ Must-Have Technical & Business Skills:

Compensation Range: $70,000 – $120,000 annually

This posted range represents our good-faith estimate for this remote role at the time of posting, in compliance with applicable state and local laws including California, Colorado, New York, and Washington.

Final compensation will depend on various factors such as the candidate’s location, experience, qualifications, and alignment with internal compensation equity. Offers typically fall within the lower to mid-point of the posted range for most candidates.


This role may also be eligible for performance bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package.
